What is a Bento Cake
Bento is a Japanese word that means convenient. Bento Boxes were used in Japan for carrying a single serving of food for lunch. - Yoghurt- ½ cup
- Baking soda- 1/4 tsp
- Egg- 1
- All-purpose flour- ½ cup
- Cocoa powder- 1.5tbsp
- Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
- Caster sugar- ¾ cup
- Vegetable oil- 2 tbsp
- Vanilla Essence- 1 tsp
- Warm Milk- ¼ cup
- For Chocolate Ganache- Cream- ½ cup & Chocolate- ½ cup
Steps

- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius. Line an 8×8 baking pan parchment paper and set it aside.
- Take yoghurt and baking soda, mix well and keep them aside.
- Now, take a bowl add the eggs and sugar and whisk them properly. Add the vanilla essence, milk and vegetable oil and blend everything.
- Take a bowl and mix All-purpose flour, Baking powder, and Cocoa powder.
- Now, combine the dry mixture with the wet one in batches. Do it slowly and avoid any lumps.
- Add the cake batter to the baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes and check it with a toothpick.
- Now, let’s prepare the frosting. Melt the chocolate and mix it properly with the whipped cream.
- Unmold the cake, cut it horizontally into three pieces, and layer it with the Chocolate Ganache. Cover the top layer with the chocolate ganache and add fresh strawberries or sprinkles for decorating. Voila! Your Bento cake is ready!
