Oh! The smell of coffee is hard to resist. All coffee lovers probably will be nodding with us, and the temptation of having a cuppa would have made them stand up for brewing one. Wait, we have got a surprise for you. Don’t just relish a coffee, but get ready to savour a delicious slice of a coffee cake. And, so, we decided to take care of your coffee cravings and came up with a coffee cake recipe that you can whip easily. Our recipe has the richness of coffee and the perfect amount of sweetness. Take a look!
Ingredients

- Flour( Maida)- 1 + 1⁄2 cups
- Baking powder- 1 teaspoon
- Yoghurt- 1 cup
- Baking soda- 1⁄2 teaspoon
- Castor sugar- 3⁄4 cup
- Vegetable oil- 1⁄2 cup
- Vanilla Extract- 1 teaspoon
- Coffee powder- 2 tbsp
- Hot water- ¼ cup
- For Frosting- Cream – 1⁄2 cup, Coffee- 2 teaspoons, Icing Sugar- 1/2 spoon
Steps:

- Preheat the oven to 180C.
- Take a clean bowl and mix the sugar and the vegetable oil with a whisk or a blender. Add vanilla extract and mix.
- In a new container, take yoghurt and mix baking soda in it. Keep it aside.
- Now, mix the sugar batch with the yoghurt one and combine well.
- Take a small bowl and mix the coffee and water. Add it to the batter.
- Next, sift the flour and baking powder in the batter. Fold it smoothly till there are no lumps left.
- Take an 8’ baking pan lined with parchment paper and pour in the batter.
- Bake for 30 to 35 mins and check with a skewer.
- For preparing the frosting, take a bowl and mix coffee, icing sugar, and cream till they blend properly. Now, glaze the cake with the frosting and add a few roasted walnuts on top.
