My love for cookies is almost as old as my existence. I developed a fascination for these sweet yummy treats way back when I couldn’t even pronounce my name correctly. Yes, I was that kid who could be easily persuaded with cookies. From bathing to eating veggies and doing homework, cookies were a perfect bribe to convince me to do all these mundane tasks.
While growing up, my mother used to take me to my grand mom’s place during summer vacations. The unconditional love, good food, and fun used to be the highlights of these vacations. And how can I ever forget the lip-smacking chocolate chip cookies that my grandmother used to serve me with a glass of hot milk. The heavenly flavor of those cookies is still fresh in my mind that was always made from scratch. They were not like usual store-bought chocolate chip cookies. They were those old-fashioned cookies that were crispy, crunchy and tasted absolutely delicious.
Last year, on my 28th birthday, my grandmother gave me the best birthday present ever. To my utter astonishment, she gifted to me her classic chocolate chip cookies recipe considering my deep love for her homemade cookies. The moment she handed over the recipe to me, it felt like I have found a hidden treasure. I couldn’t have asked for a better present on the most special day of my life. I hugged my granny right away and wet her cheeks with kisses.
The day I received my grand mom’s special chocolate chip cookies recipe, I knew I had to make them for her someday. While browsing the Internet one day, I got to know that every year gorgeous grandmother day is commemorated on 23rd July to celebrate these special women in our lives and thank them for their selfless love and care. As far as I know, my grandmother is not aware of such a day. So I decided to surprise her with homemade chocolate chip cookies on the same day. I am looking forward to spending some quality time with my grandmother while relishing these cookies, which I hardly get to do now being a working married woman. And I just want to witness that joy on her face when she takes the first bite of cookies. The similar joy that she has been giving me for years.
Further, I am going to share my grand mom’s classic chocolate chip cookies recipe here that you can try at home or maybe on the upcoming occasion of the Gorgeous Grandmother Day on 23rd July to please and treat your granny.
