Home Remedies to get Rid of Facial Hair

All women have facial hair, which are usually light coloured and hardly visible. There is a condition called hirsutism that causes excessive or unwanted hair growth on a woman’s body and face. It affects about 5-10% of women of all ages. Some women are not comfortable with thick & coarse facial hair and take help of tweezers, bleach or facial wax to get rid of them. These methods are not only painful but also cause harm to the skin in the long run. Therefore, we present here some simple yet effective home remedies to get rid of facial hair naturally.

These remedies not only remove facial hair but also reduces the rate of hair growth when used over time. And the part is- they save you from frequent salon visits.

Onion & Basil Paste

How to use it?

  • Make a paste of onion and basil leaves
  • Apply the paste over the hairy area of your face
  • Let it dry & wash it off
  • Repeat this 3-4 times a week for a few months.

Lemon & Honey Mixture

Lemon & Honey Mixture

How to use it?

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar & lemon juice, and one tablespoon of honey
  • Heat the mixture for about 3 minutes & add water to make it thinner
  • Once it cools down, apply the paste on affected areas in the direction of hair growth
  • Pull the hair out in the opposite direction of growth with a wax strip.

Oatmeal & Banana Paste

How to use it?

  • Mash a ripened banana & blend it with powdered oatmeal
  • Apply the paste on your face & massage it in a circular motion against the direction of hair growth
  • Wash it off with cold water
  • Apply it once a week to get rid of facial hair.

Egg white & Corn starch Mask

How to use it?

  • Take egg white, corn starch & sugar in a bowl
  • Beat all the ingredients together, so that there are no lumps of cornstarch
  • Apply the mask over the hairy area of your face
  • Peel off the mask after it dries completely & wash your face with cold water
  • Apply the mask twice a week for facial hair removal.

Turmeric & Milk Mask

How to use it?

  • Mix rice flour, turmeric powder, and milk; add water if required
  • Apply the mask over the area of unwanted hair & let it dry
  • Wash it off with warm water
  • You can apply this mask every day.

Rose Water & Alum Mixture

How to use it?

  • Take alum and rose water in a set ratio of 1:2 and mix together
  • Apply the mixture on a hairy area with a cotton ball
  • Let it dry & apply again (continue the process 5-6 times in one sitting)
  • Wash it off with cold water & massage the face with olive oil
  • Repeat this process at least once a week.

Aloe Vera & Papaya Paste

How to use it?

  • Mix aloe vera pulp, papaya paste, gram flour, and mustard oil together to form a paste
  • Apply the paste over the hairy area of your face & let it dry
  • With a cotton cloth, rub off the dried mask in the opposite direction of hair growth
  • Wash it off with cold water & massage the skin with olive oil
  • Use it 3-4 times a week for best results.
