Homemade Hair Masks to cure Dandruff

Dandruff is one of the most common yet stubborn hair problems. Whether you try a strong shampoo or opt for an expensive hair treatment- it just doesn’t seem to disappear and keeps coming back. In fact, the chemicals in shampoos and conditioners do more harm than good.

The flaky dandruff and irritated scalp can be annoying and embarrassing at times. So, if you want to get rid of itchy dandruff, here are some homemade hair masks for you.

Lemon & Curd Mask

Lemon & Curd Mask

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of yoghurt with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • Apply onto the scalp gently & let it sit for 30 minutes
  • Rinse it off with a mild shampoo.

Yoghurt & Honey Mask

Yoghurt & Honey Mask

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of fresh yoghurt with 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Apply the paste onto your scalp and hair
  • Leave it on for an hour & cover your head with a shower cap
  • Wash it off with normal water.

Egg White Mask

Egg White Mask

  • Take the white of an egg & beat it with 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Apply the paste onto your scalp and hair
  • Leave it for an hour after covering your head with a shower cap
  • Wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Oatmeal & Tea Tree Mask

Oatmeal & Tea Tree Mask

  • Add 2 tablespoons of oatmeal with sufficient water to make a paste
  • Add a few drops of tea tree oil to the paste
  • Mix well & apply onto your scalp and hair
  • Leave it on for 30 minutes & then wash off with normal water.

Hibiscus Mask

Hibiscus Mask

  • Take 5-6 hibiscus flowers and boil them
  • Use a blender to churn flowers and add a little amount of water to create a thick paste
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons of warm coconut oil to the paste & massage on the scalp
  • Let it soak for 1-2 hours & wash off with warm water.

Moong Dal & Curd Mask

Moong Dal & Curd Mask

  • Take 2 tablespoons of moong dal & soak them overnight
  • Strain the excess water & make a smooth paste in a grinder
  • Add 1 tablespoon of curd to the paste & apply it onto your scalp & hair
  • Leave it on for an hour & then wash off with normal water.

Garlic & Honey Mask

Garlic & Honey Mask

  • Take 3-4 garlic cloves and crush them
  • Mix it with 2 tablespoons of honey
  • Apply it onto your scalp & leave on for 20-30 minutes
  • Wash it off with a strongly scented shampoo to get rid of garlic smell.

Baking Soda & Lemon Juice Mask

Baking Soda & Lemon Juice Mask

  • Add 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice with 4 tablespoons of baking soda
  • Pour in some water to make a thick paste & apply it immediately onto your scalp
  • Massage your scalp lightly & let it sit for 2-3 minutes
  • Wash it off with cold water.
