The mild sunburn leads to reddening of the skin, itching and skin irritation while the chronic sunburn can result in swelling, fever and peeling of the skin as well.

Aloe Vera
- Take an aloe vera leaf and split it into two
- Apply the jelly that comes out of the leaf directly on the burnt area; it will help calm skin irritation caused by the burn
- Repeat the process at least twice a day.
Honey
- Honey has natural moisturizing, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe your sunburn in no time
- Apply a few drops of honey on the burn and rub it in
- Repeat the process at least twice a day to get relief from pain and itching.
Cold Milk
- Pour some milk into a bowl & add a washcloth in it
- Place the washcloth on the reddened area to create a protein film
- It will provide immediate cooling comfort from painful burns.
Sandalwood Paste
- Mix sandalwood paste with ice-cold water
- Apply it on the affected burnt area daily
- Apart from offering relief from the burn, its anti-ageing properties reduce wrinkles caused by excessive rays of the sun.
Chamomile Tea
- Brew chamomile tea and let it cool
- Once it’s ready, soak a washcloth in it and apply it to the affected area
- Repeat this process twice a day to soothe your sunburn skin.
Baking Soda in Cold Water
- Mix baking soda with a few tablespoons of cold water to form a paste
- Gently apply the paste directly to the skin & let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes
- Wash off the paste gently & avoid rubbing the mixture into the burn.
Lavender Oil
- Add a few drops of lavender oil to a carrier oil and apply the mixture to your skin
- It will provide relief to your sunburn screen
- Also, inhaling lavender for a brief amount of time or diffusing in the air may relax you when trying to cure sunburn.
Witch Hazel
- Witch hazel is a liquid extract from the witch hazel plant
- It contains oils & tannins that help reduce inflammation & fight free radicals
- Apply witch hazel to your burn to get relief from pain & itching.
