May Goddess Saraswati Bless You With The Ocean Of Knowledge Which Never Ends

May You Be Bestowed With Knowledge And Wisdom. Have A Blessed Vasant Panchami!

As the chill in the weather vanishes with the arrival of Spring; I wish all your sorrows also evaporate. Happy Basant Panchami.

Let’s pray the goddess of knowledge and wisdom on the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami. May the goddess stop showering her blessings on us!

When is Basant Panchami?

Basant Panchami is celebrated on the 5th day of the bright half of the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar month of Magha. Magha generally tallies with January or February. The upcoming Basant Panchami is on 10th February 2019. This festival marks the beginning of the spring season and is celebrated mostly in Northern, Eastern, Central, and Western India. Vasant Panchami also refers to the beginning of the preparation of Holi – the festival of colors which occurs exactly 40 days later.

Basant or Vasant means “spring” while “Panchami” refers to the 5th day of spring. This is a Hindu festival that marks the beginning of spring season post the winter. The highlights of this festival are Yellow clothes, kites in the sky, and worship of Goddess Saraswati.
