Real girlfriends are one of the greatest gifts in one’s life. It is a beautiful feeling to have someone right beside you through thick and thin (see, it doesn’t only need to be in your wedding vows). Sure, we all have some amazing guy friends, and we are not saying that men don’t understand, but sometimes they don’t.
Honestly, no one can appreciate you as “you” more than your gang of girlfriends. After all, they are your greatest cheerleaders, pillars of strength, gossip partners, and your 2 AM crying buddy all wrapped in one, or well, many girlfriends. It’s the same unbreakable bond that Fevicol often depicts beautifully through its many campaigns. Just that it’s not always that white, it has greys and blacks too, and these are the things we only share with our girlfriends (Remember, they never judge!).
When you are broke
All those times, when you don’t have enough savings to buy that red dress to wear at the party, you can rely on your girlfriends. They might not buy you one–chances are they’re broke too. But they will end up ditching the party and snuggle with you in your bed with a tub of popcorn.
The ex you can’t forget
You have already told them about your first date, first kiss, first fight, and breakup (all of them), so you can also let them know that you miss him. Honestly, no matter what you tell them, they will give their all to make you the hero in the situation as it is never your fault!
About the boy, you are crushing over
Come on; you are not the person to cry for a guy; you will move on and find somebody else. And your wonderful girl gang will always be there to hype you up. Plus, they won’t judge even if you fall for the same guy again and again or a bunch of different guys (though they may judge you for your weird choices sometimes (favourite ice cream, hair colour, no bath quarantine).
All about those awful period cramps
Okay, we all know how those terrible period cramps can ruin our day, but thank God for we have our girlfriends just a call away (wow that rhymed!). You don’t really need to write long texts or explain yourself when you cancel the plan; they get it straight away. No questions asked! Instead, they will tell you what to do, what to eat, or maybe just come over with a cup of hot chocolate from your favourite little cafe.
The times when you doubt yourself
We have all been there! The times when we feel really low, or under-confident about a new start, but wait! Our girlfriends have been there too, rooting for us. They are indeed our biggest support system and mind it, our truth bomb as well. “That dress is making your waistline look bigger,” “your boyfriend is a jerk,” “you are overdramatic,” these are the things only our girlfriends can dare to tell us and still not hurt us.
In short, you can share anything and everything with your gorgeous girl gang (alliteration on point), from family dramas to boyfriend problems or not having a boyfriend at all (this might be a problem too), and everything in between. Who else cares anyway?
