Holi is on 29th March and we know you are all busy cleaning your sweet home or trying your hands at making perfectly shaped ‘Gujiyas’. While you are enthusiastic about the festival, it is evident that you are also worried about the Holi colours that have harsh chemicals and negatively affect your skin. If you believe in going all out on Holi and need a quick fix about the Holi colours, then you are in a treat for sure. Here is a list of ways to make organic colours for Holi at home<\/strong> that will certainly remove the need of you preparing a list of excuses for not playing with colours. Isn’t it cool?<\/p>\n

Red<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\"Red\"<\/p>\n

Preparing organic Holi colours<\/a> at home is quite easy and let’s start with the most used one. The passionate red colour can be made with the beautiful Hibiscus flower. All you need to do is to dry the flowers, blend them and add gram flour to make a fine powder.<\/p>\n

Yellow<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Yellow\"<\/p>\n

Turmeric is present in all households and it is the best ingredient for making herbal Holi colours at home. But for Holi colours, you will need the turmeric root and then you will have to grind it. You can even use the Haldi powder that is there in your kitchen. If you are taking 2 tablespoons of Haldi powder, then you should add 1 tablespoon of gram flour to it for making the perfect shade of yellow.<\/p>\n

Green<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Take Henna Powder, add a little gram flour and rose water, and your green colour is ready!<\/p>\n

Magenta<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Beetroots are the best when it comes to making magenta colour. Soak beetroot in water, boil it and leave for the night. The next day you can use it in place of wet colours.<\/p>\n

Blue<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Bring home blue hibiscus flowers and make a powder after drying them. Now, you can add flour to it and get a nice hue of blue.<\/p>\n

Purple<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Take 4 to 5 black carrots and grind them in a mixer grinder. Now, add 1 cup cornflour to it for getting the right shade of purple.<\/p>\n

You will need a famous flower called the Flame of the forest for making orange colour. Dry the petals and make a fine powder. Now, add flour to it and mix well. Alternatively, you can take saffron and soak it in water for making a wet colour.<\/p>\n

Making eco-friendly colours for Holi is a creative task and you can easily make unusual colours. Be a little different and try your hands at making grey colour. Take amla and grind it.
